Our younger students are offered the opportunity to perform music at regularly scheduled public recitals. These events are designed to be fun and exciting for children, parents, and our community. They provide the opportunity for our students to showcase their efforts in front of a live audience. Music for Life students perform at care homes during the Christmas season, a dress-up show for Halloween, a spring formal recital, and an ice cream performance in the summer. Many of Music for Life’s students can also be seen performing in several of the different Vernal area school talent shows and charity events.
Spring Recital is a more formal event that showcases pieces that the student and teacher selects to showcase their individual talents and abilities. Family and friends come to enjoy a variety of pieces and special awards are given at this time.
Halloween provides a unique opportunity for students and parents, if desired, to dress up in costumes, gather, and celebrate fall and halloween-themed selections. We often get featured in the local papers for these performances!
YOUNG COMPOSERS WORKSHOP
Students learn the ins and outs of musical composition, various composers and the eras they influenced, and compose their own original works. The students share their compositions with each other in improve immensely during this workshop.
We have held several summer piano camps for our students and the community. They are always a great success and the kids have so much fun learning and playing musical games. Keep checking back to see more piano camp dates and times!
ICE CREAM SOCIAL
The Ice Cream Social is a more relaxed performance that includes fun pieces selected by the teacher and student. Some students include a humorous element to their performance. It is great fun!
CHRISTMAS CHARITY RECITAL
Every holiday season Music for Life organizes charity recitals for the elderly retirement and nursing homes in our community. It brings us great joy to be able to share our love of music and the warmth of the holiday season at these events.
